390390Yes, but you need to use an old GTK+ runtime (2.6.10 or older); you can download the [http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pidgin/gtk-runtime-2.6.10-rev-a.exe standalone GTK+ 2.6.10 runtime installer] and install it separately before installing Pidgin.

393Entering character codes works differently in GTK+; press `Ctrl+Shift+u` and then type the Unicode number (in hexadecimal) with Ctrl and Shift held down. GTK+ 2.10.0 and later versions do not require Ctrl and Shift to be held down while typing the number.  For example, `Alt-164` would become `Ctrl+Shift+u`, `f1`.
